The Marcaida's Newest

And so I'm back with the new member of the family!

So guys, meet my wonderboy Maureese Synan (Mu•ris Si•nan) Maureese came from me and Synan was Daddy's choice.

He's turning 3mos on 16th, exclusively breastfeed, weighing 6kg (as per his last check up). He giggles a lot, he also has a very bad tantrums 🤣🤣🤣 he always wants to stay outside the house.

I'm having a hard time as if it was my first time being a mom. It was really different raising Synan compare to Sundae. I'm full time with him while with Sundae, I only have her after work.

Anyways, let's all get to know him more in this coming coming days!

COVID19 (ECQ) Gardening

Here's what #themarcaidas got from the quarantine gardening.

We have 3 batches of harvest from our pechay, thanks God for the blessing 😍😍😍

First harvest from our okra and second for the bell pepper, after being recovered from being no leaves since it was attacked by caterpillars.

We have just planted sitaw (stringbeans), while the ampalaya (bittergourd) and squash were now crawling. While the tomatoes are still growing.

We have planted another batch of pechay since it's one of my best low carb veggie partner.

Low Carb Meals

Here are some of my low carb meals. There are time na inaabot akong maging creative sa food. On a daily basis, normal table food ang kinakain ko. Kung anong available na luto sa bahay will do basta walang rice.

Hindi din naman ako mahilig sa rice kaya hindi mahirap for me to remove rice on my meals. You know what's the hardest part of my low carb? Yung mga kakanin! I love kakanin..puto, bibingka, suman, sapin-sapin name it! Also yun bread and mga sortidos (tawag samin sa Quezon sa mga native biscuits).

Avocado, fried liempo and creamy pesto shiratake.
Cheesy Fried Liempo with coco aminos
Ampalaya con shrimp
Homemade skinless longganisa and fried pork
Fried tilapia and ginisang pechay
Sinigang na lechon

My Low Carb Journey

It was not an easy journey but it was really worth it.

How I started? I didn't perfectly done it. Tao lang ako natutukso lalo na kung may monay at palaman :-)..but because I really wanted to get in shape, I tried to resist the temptation and get back on track again.

First thing you must do is to have the discipline and determination. Maraming tukso along the way, may birthday, anniversary, wedding, binyag at kung anu-ano pang occasions plus si Jollibee pakalat kalat..

Next eat meat, egg, seafoods you can add leafy veg pang-alis umay..you can have black coffee or a bulletproof coffee (black coffee, all purpose cream, butter and equal gold..

Repeat until you reach your goal weight.

Avoid pasta, bread, fruits (except strawberry and avocado) and vegetables high in carbs (all rootcrafts) anything starchy is a NO.

As per the coaches, avoid doing exercise as long as you are still losing weight since it will install your weight due to muscle gain. What I did was I workout when I reached my normal BMI and weight.

This is my latest picture.
Yung katawan ko 11 years ago, nabalik ko na ng very very light.
See the difference? Slow maybe, but at least may result.
Hindi na prominent yun tummy ko 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, mas nag-boost yun confidence ko, 🥰🥰🥰

First Travel Photo

Throwback muna tayo mga mamsh! Alam kong labas na labas na din kayo at kating kati na ang mga paa gumala.

Ito yun first travel namin as family. Photo was taken when our Sundae is only 10mos old, in Kamay ni Jesus, Lucban Quezon.

La Union sana kami this summer, but since ECQ, bahay bahay na lang muna.

Stay safe kahit GCQ na, mahirap ang second wave.

I would be so flattered if you would credit me when you grab my photo.

Planting on ECQ

Dahil sinira ni #typhoonambo ang pechay, replanting kami at to the rescue si Daddy at Sundae. Ilang days ulit ang hihintayin namin to grow these.

Yung okra naman is safe. Yung indian mango na sana maniba na namin susungkitin eh naglaglagan na din. Namulot lang kami nong sa tingin namin kaya namin kainin the rest iniwan na namin para pulutin ng ibang makakagusto kesa masira lang.

Still, all praise to God because we are safe! It's all that matters!

Oil for frying

My 8-year old Sundae

She's growing so fast and how I missed the days I left her with my Nanay...moving forward, I won't be missing a day with her, because I decided to be a full-time mom. I already left my job since July 2018 and final went back on the province to take care of her.

Daddy and I decided that we stay in the province until she finish her elementary. But Daddy will soon be back in Manila to continue working. So it will be just me and Sundae. Will just visit him during school off.

Development vs Nature

I can't help myself but post this. I have nothing against the developement because it would be very convenient for us to travel having this diversion road. It is indeed comfortable because we won't be stock in traffic in town. But seeing this, where the hills have to be cut down to make a road is really hurting me. (Insert music..🎶🎶hindi nga masama ang pag-unlad kung hindi nakakasira ng kalikasan🎶🎶)

Daddy's 34th Bday: Bulacan and Tanay Adventure

Every year, we celebrate his birthday with inuman and just some food at the house. But this time, we make it a little different. A two-day celebration on a separate location, this time with adventure.

We welcome his birthday camping at a friends farm in Norzagaray Bulacan, of course with a little inuman pa din until about 4am. We arrived at the farm about 11pm. We immediately set up the tent and started the session :) . We took some sleeps until 8am and head to the nearby talipapa to buy some foods for lunch to bring at Bakas River.
Bakas River Norzagaray, Bulacan

It only took us about 20minutes tricycle ride from the farm to Bakas River. When we arrived, the water was very calm. And as we are having our lunch, the water immediately went up and flows very fast. My friend said that the Angat dam released water. It was really not safe to swim there because of it. Although there were signage that it is prohibited to go swimming there are still some young kids age 10-15 who are swimming there.

Because it was about to rain, we left the river at around 4pm, took bath right after we arrive the farm and left at around 6pm.

The next day, July 2, we went to Tanay Rizal, to climb Mt. Nagpatong and Tung-tong Falls in Tanay Rizal. We meet my PUPMountaineers family together with their spouses as well, 4:30am at Araneta Center in Cubao. Stop over to buy some food at Cogeo Market for breakfast, then head on to Brgy. Pulong Pasig, Calauag Quezon

Temptation Island pose with Ate Nicole
Since Calauag is our nearby town in the province, and where the famous Pulong Pasig is, we never let ourselves be the last to visit it.

The sandbar is really long, however, there are people who really give a damn care to the place. They left an empty pack of chips on the sandbar! Ughh! There are people wants to visit a super nice place but can manage leave the place clean.

The island has no restroom and fresh water for you to wash, so if you plan to stay there overnight, prepare yourself to sleep without washing your body. Just bring a lot of wipes so you could at least feel fresh.

We went there in grouped so we saved a lot with our boat fee. Here is the list of our expenses:

Gas - 1,600 (unleaded, one way) Cubao - Calauag
Toll - (one way) SLEX - 214
       - (one way) Star - 25 + 53
Boat - 5,000 (two way, good for 20 pax)

How to get to Calauag, Quezon
By bus, take a DLTB going to Daet, fare is P375, then alight in Calauag. Take a tricycle going to the "C" where you can take a boat going to Pangahoy. From Pangahoy, ask a local who can take you to Pulong Pasig. Boat from Pangahoy to Pulong Pasig usually range to Php500.

Local Tour is Fun: Rediscover Manila and Quezon City

Rizal Park
Meet Gat. Jose Rizal: "He is our national hero," were her words upon telling her that it is the monument of Jose Rizal. It was just so annoying to see a building beside the monument so I just find an angle where it can't be seen :).
Calesa ride in Luneta
Our first calesa ride :) Yes, at this age, it is my first time to ride the calesa. It was fun but at the same time there is something in my heart that's hurting, hindi ba animal cruelty yun? Thou hindi naman sya pinapalo ni Kuyang Kutsero. If so, kindly forgive us, for the sake of experience lang po.

Chinese Garden
After meeting Gat. Jose Rizal, we entered the Chinese Garden, it has a P10 entrance fee but kids are free, not sure until what age. We didn't stayed there for a long time, crowded sya ng mga dating very young couples.
Quezon City Memorial Circle Underpass
Before heading home, we stopped at Quezon City Memorial Circle to have dinner.

It was a tiring day but we had fun.

Fortunate to Conquer Fortune Island

Fortune Island, Nasugbu Batangas
This little girl always make her Mommy proud.

Striked a pose at Fortune Island, this little girl is as cowboy as her mom :). Absence of a well-maintained restroom is not a problem, just find a place where digging of at least 6inches hole is possible and walah!! Haha!

Fortune Island is such a nice place, however, if you are the type of person na very particular sa restroom, I do not advise you to stay overnight here. Other than lack of a nice restroom, the place is very nice. The water is very clear, wag lang sana abused by leaving your trash sa island. Nobody else will clean it but the visitors.

Moving Up 2016

Every mother wants to see their little ones an achiever. It makes us feel so proud that they are doing good in what they are doing. It maybe be to early to say that they are successful since they just begun. I'm telling you, the feeling is so different.

During the deliberation, I'm may be hypocrite if say I'm not expecting any because I know my Sundae is no ordinary kid, I-m expecting that she will get the Excellent Pupil, but she only got Outstanding Pupil. I understand because her writing interest is very low. She complains getting tired of it to her teacher.

But overall I'm still happy and proud of what she got. The Most Articulate award is still on her.

God's Grace

Imagine how wonderful our place was. But how sad that most us don't care much how to preserve it for our future generation. My Sundae is only 5 and I'm thinking how she and her next generation would get from the nature.

Fingerpainting: Weekend Bounding

Since I only got to visit my Sundae every two weeks, I make sure that I will have time to play with her. I don't schedule visits with my friends so my two-day stay will all be spent with her. Last weekend, (Feb 13-14, I really have a hard time to post but I make sure that at least 4 times a month I will be able to update this) this is what we did, finger paint!

She has been asking me to buy this since last month but I always forgot so I just brought something else, either a coloring book or a food she saw at the tvc. Since we got a chance to go to SM Lucena on Jan. 30, she reminds me to look for this.

At first the sales lady at National Bookstore don't know what finger paint is. She heads us to the watercolors. Since their we found none, Sundae settles at the water color. When we are about to pay the item, my brother saw the red box at the shelf at the back of the counter! Thank goodness! Happiness at it's finest!
